Shopanthropic is excited to announce our second webinar as part of our Global Webinar Series on the sustainable and ethical retail space internationally. The Global Webinar Series is intended to engage speakers from sustainable and ethical product companies and organizations around the world, to bring new perspectives and ideas for us to further the movement of sustainable/ethical products in the marketplace in Canada.
Our first webinar occurred in late 2011, with the Chief Executive of the WFTO, who talked about topics relevant to the fair trade and social enterprise markets. Through a mix of talks, question/answer sessions and dynamic interactive experiences, we hope to shed light on ways to accelerate the ethical, fair trade and sustainable product movement in Canada.
For our second webinar in this series, we will be speaking with directors from the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) Africa and World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) Asia. We intend to build on our conversation from our first webinar session with the Chief Executive of the WFTO globally, and discuss trends that the directors in Africa and Asia are observing and how that is impact the global fair trade movement. As was the format in the first session, we will take questions from attendees through the session. This discussion is aptly titled: “A Discussion on Ethical Retail with the World Fair Trade Organization Africa & Asia.â€
Through experiencing the first webinar, we found that an online platform was a great way to connect people from around the world around one discussion. Participants from over a dozen countries were able to listen to the insights of a leader in the social enterprise sphere and ask their own questions to challenge view points, gain knowledge and spark debate. We hope that through these panel discussions, questions and conversations – new ideas can be generated and sparked to expand the reach of social enterprise worldwide.
At the intersection of tech, fashion & social change. We believe that all products should enable change. It’s just good business.  So on March 20th, 2012 at 10:30 – tune in for an amazing mix of discussion, questions and unique perspectives about fair trade from around the world.
