Ritmo en los Barrios

This short documentary focuses on a program run by Building New Hope – a changemaker based in Granada, Nicaragua.  Ritmo en los Barrios is a program that teaches impoverished children to find their inner musical talent.

The program works to aid impoverished youth in the area through musical education, creating a new life path for children that takes them out of poverty, and for one specific youth – a path away from possible prostitution.

Building New Hope depends on aid from the United States and worldwide to gather support for their works in Nicaragua. The organization is based in Granada because it is a tourist hub in Nicaragua, where volunteers are more easy to come by.

Actuality Media is an organization that takes media students to developing communities around the globe to create positive media that tells the story of changemakers doing good works to fight societal and environmental problems that plague the world. These short documentaries were each produced during a thirty day outreach where crews researched their subject changemaker, wrote out their story, filmed and edited it.

There are so many more positive stories worth telling, and Actuality Media will have more short documentaries soon.
