Social commerce with a conscience: Voucherry helps nonprofits engage fans

Voucherry, the fusion of an online social network and e-commerce site, helps nonprofits engage with their supporter base while their fans score with dynamite local offers. It’s social commerce with a conscience; a unique new platform that incentivizes referrals, rewards transactions and raises money for a member’s favorite cause.

Or, as Voucherry founder Ammar Charani puts it, “Voucherry is a unique social media phenomenon because it serves as the hub between consumers, merchants and causes. We’ve created a platform that allows lifelong engagement with a nonprofit’s donors or business’s customers.”

Members, or Voucherrians as they are called on the site, gain Cherry rewards (their reward currency) when they build their personal networks (called Farms), invite others to “vouch” for them, take advantage of merchant promotional offers, or participate in a variety of platform-driven activities. All these activities earn Cherries for nonprofits which can be redeemed for direct cash donations.

Once a nonprofit or business signs up fans via their network they are linked for life — a type of affiliate networking per se. That’s great for any business who values customer loyalty, but for nonprofits it gets better.

One percent of revenue from every offer purchased on Voucherry goes to the buyer’s selected cause. Causes currently range from NBA stardom (Darrell Armstrong Foundation) to the American Heart Association with multitudes of small to large nonprofits signing up all the time.

There are also plenty of ways to earn rewards for you: your vouches, connections, invitations, postings, recommendations, following, followers, messages you send, messages you read, loyalty, purchases, ratings, commenting, friending, liking, and ad watching all make you and your selected cause money.

The platform is free to use for individual members and nonprofits alike, and is increasingly lucrative for early adopters. Create a profile for yourself or your organization now, or gain a better understanding with our slideshow below.
